Can I amend my client's renewal date?

eTrade policies are set to run for 12 months, and therefore the end term dates can't be amended.

Is there a height or depth limit?

There are no height or depth limits on the Tradesmen product. However, certain trades will trigger a request for you to provide the height and depth limits that your clients work at, which will be recorded on the Statement of Fact. Certain trades exclude activities which are carried out at height.

Do you cover tools in a vehicle overnight?

Our standard wording excludes theft or attempted theft of portable tools and equipment from any vehicle or trailer, whilst unattended, between the hours of 9pm and 6am. Cover can be extended for an additional premium to include theft or attempted theft by violent and forcible entry/exit to the vehicle for an additional premium. The vehicle does not need to be kept in a locked compound for this cover to operate.

My client is a builder and does an element of roofing. Is this acceptable?

We are happy for the trades ‘General builder’ and ‘Property maintenance’ to be used where there is incidental roofing work, providing that stand-alone roofing contracts do not exceed 10% of the annual turnover and the policyholder does not advertise for roofing contracts or describe himself as a roofer.
